INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2022: Hello friends, How are you? Today I am welcome you all on a health related topic. Yes guys the topic is International Yoga Day. For a perfect healthy lifestyle yoga or we can say that exercise is also necessary with healthy food. Every year International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21. It is an important source of exercise and healthy activity. Due to this millions of people join and practice it on a daily basis. For many people these routines are a way to connect the body, mind and soul in such a way that they exist for centuries.

What Is Yoga?

The word “yoga” arises from the root word “yuj” which means “to yoke” or “to bind.” The word itself has numerous meanings, from an astrological conjunction to matrimony, with the underlying theme being connection.
Yoga asana is the physical practice and postures of yoga. In normal word Yoga is a physical practice with the help of asanas.


History Of International Yoga Day

On International Yoga Day, people all over the world are ready with their yoga mats but they do not aware about history of Yoga. Yoga is an ancient practice that arises around 5,000 years ago in India. Initially Yoga was developed as a way to interconnect the mind, body and soul. Gradually this practice becomes popular in the west. At a point it becomes popular as an exercise and relaxation method.

Who Introduced Idea For International Yoga Day?

The idea of International Yoga Day was firstly introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 27, 2014. The reason to choose June 21 as International Yoga Day is that it is the Summer Solstice. In these day mostly the sun out of every other day of the year. Internationally, it received support from 177 nations. This is the highest number of co-sponsors for any UN resolution. Finally the moment come and June 21 is selected as the International Yoga Day. On June 21, 2015, around 36,000 people, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other high-profile political figures from all around the world, performed 21 asanas (yoga postures) for 35 minutes in New Delhi on first International Yoga Day. From that day this day has been celebrated around the globe ever since.


Benefits Of Doing Yoga

Yoga offers lot’s of benefits to the people doing it on daily basis. Some important Benefits of doing yoga are as follows-

1) Yoga Improves Flexibility

Flexibility is necessary for physical health. Yoga is helpful for improving flexibility in adults age like 65 and older. Reduced flexibility is a natural part of aging, and a 2019 study found that yoga both slowed down loss and improved flexibility in older adults.

2) Helps In Back Pain Relief

Yoga is a good source for easing pain and improving mobility in people with lower back pain. The Physicians of American College recommends yoga as a first-line treatment for chronic low back pain.

3) Yoga Benefits Heart Health

Daily yoga practice reduce levels of stress and body-wide inflammation which contribute to healthier hearts. Several factors contributing which contribute to heart disease, including high blood pressure and excess weight, can also be reduced by doing yoga.

4) Better Sleep

Yoga helps to give proper sleep. Research shows that a continuous bedtime yoga routine helps in the right mindset and prepare our body to fall asleep and stay asleep.

5) Manage Stress

Yoga also helpful in managing stress. According to the National Institutes of Health, evidence shows that yoga supports stress management, mental health, mindfulness, healthy eating, weight loss and quality sleep.
